Long Time Coming

Oh my goodness I’m so thrilled tonight! I was bummed about not being able to go to BlogHer and meet some of my best friends, but that has all changed…because I found out tonight that my bestest blogging friend is going to be 2 hours away from me immediately after BlogHer for a week. She lives across the country, so for her to be this close to my area is rare, I decided I’m going to drive the 2 hours up to Washington DC and finally meet KRISTIN from Our Ordinary Life!!!!!!

This is so awesome, you have no idea! We met online before I started blogging. We met on a mommy forum about 4 years ago. She is the one who got me started blogging and has helped me through it all. She rocks, and we completely click, but we’ve never met in person. I’m over here on the east coast and she’s way on the west coast, so the thought of us meeting, didn’t seem too plausible. But, now it’s happening! We went through our latest pregnancies together, her with Brooklin and me with Jaxon…we bonded a lot with that…shared our fears, hopes, dreams for the babies we carried. Now, even though they have never met, Jaxon and Brooklin are growing up together. Kristin and I share all of the milestones with each other, and we gush over each other’s kids pictures.

I finally get to hug her! I can’t wait! We’ve seen each other on video, and we’ve talked through Skype, I think we’ve even video chatted before. She also gets to meet Jaxon (her request that I bring him) and I get to meet Del! This may sound gay, but honestly, who cares….I get to touch her, and feel her…to put a LIVE face to this person I already feel a connection to! Heck, since I knew we were going to meet, I was thinking of writing this post…but was unsure how she would feel, then tonight she mentions she was thinking of writing a post about us meeting…seriously! I had not mentioned it to her, but we think alike!

I’m so thrilled about this! The plan so far is that I’m driving up to DC and meeting Kristin and Del at their hotel, and we will walk somewhere to have dinner and chit chat. She gets to find out how much of a dork I really am! Be prepared for pictures beyond belief, I will have pictures of her and Jaxon, me and her (I may let Del touch my camera lol) I’m sure she’ll be tweeting pictures while I’m up there.

There is so much running through my head right now! So many things that I am wondering, will we click in person as much as we do online? Will she think I’m a total dork and then run…FAST in the opposite direction? Will I stutter uncontrollably and she think I’m a dimwitted moron? These and more are running through my head and probably will be until August 9th arrives and I finally meet her!

Now she is going to read this and think twice about meeting me haha!
