Summer is in full swing, and this weekend everyone is going to be outside to celebrate Independence Day with cook-outs, swimming and then fireworks that night. I want to make sure everyone protects themselves and especially the kids from the sun. That’s why I’m reviewing UV Skinz.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to protect your kids from the sun, not only to keep them from the pain of a sunburn, but to keep from eventually getting skin cancer…oh I shutter just typing that word. When we go out, I slather on the sunscreen to the kids, always SPF 50. It’s a bit tough to put sunscreen on a wiggly 1year old, not to mention him putting his hands in his mouth because he’s still teething and he also sucks his thumb…I don’t like the idea of sunscreen getting in his mouth. So the UV Skinz shirts are awesome! They sent Jaxon a longsleeve shirt and a pair of baby bloomers to keep him covered! Look at these pictures, now I may be slightly biased, but this is the cutest little boy ever!
He’s so happy. You can see here that he loves it! It’s light, it’s thin, and it’s sooooooo soft. We’ve been swimming once with it on and it dried just as fast (if not faster) than the kids’ bathing suits! When we were at the pool, it was hot, and you would think with long sleeves he would be hot as well, but not him, he laid back in his floaty and sucked his thumb…enjoyed himself.

Wondering why you should choose a UV Skinz shirt than just sunscreen? Here are a few things from their site:
- Cost effective — A garment costs about the same as one or two bottles of sunscreen, but lasts much longer
- On average, a more effective UV blocker — Less prone to “missed spots” or “under application”
- Dependable — Doesn’t wash off, rub off, dissipate, penetrate, or expire
- Not messy — Spillproof
- Not an irritant — Doesn’t cause eye irritation or acne
- Quicker to apply — Covers large areas in a hurry
UV Skinz has saved me time, and saved Jaxon’s adorable little skin! For both those things, I thank them! This isn’t the first time we’ve reviewed sun protection clothing, I reviewed Sun Protection Zone for Jeffery and Jaylin about 2 years ago, I think UV Skinz are thinner…but they both do the job. I don’t see any other differences, I like them both. The one difference is Sun Protection Zone don’t have baby sizes like UV Skinz does. UV Skinz has a lot more of a design variety also. I had a hard time deciding which to get for Jaxon. I settled for the Seth Blue Tye Dye….and looking at those pictures, I made a good choice.
