I know most of you are probably familiar with Thomas the Train, my kids (mostly Jeffery) love to watch the DVD’s and play with the train sets. So when I was contacted by Learning Curve to review a new Thomas toy, I knew it would get plenty of play.
Early Engineers is designed for younger Thomas fans, the trains are a bit bigger to make it easier for little hands to grab. It says ages 18months+, I went ahead and let Jaxon have at this one. We were sent the Early Engineers Roundabout Station set, it comes with a Thomas train, a roundabout of track (which can also connect to the regular Thomas train track), a station, crossing gate, and spinning cargo. Check out this picture of Jaxon when I first give him the Thomas train.
He loves the train! He hasn’t figured out about putting it on the track, but he played with it in his highchair for the longest time! Jeffery and Jaylin snatched up the track that come with it and started putting their train track on it and playing with their trains on it. I did try giving the track to Jaxon to see what he would do with it, he liked lifting the gate up and down since it made a cracking noise.
There are more Early Engineers sets, they can all be connected together to make one big play area! There are also more trains than just Thomas, such as Gordon, Henry, James and more! The train sets are pretty much just like the regular Thomas Wooden Railway sets, just that they are “stuck” (glued, or something) together, like the Roundabout can’t be taken apart, they just have 2 ends that come off and can be connected to other sets. The trains all have the magnet in the front and back so kids can make long trains.
