Meet Kristine from Ambassador Crochet (Giveaway)

I’ve been crocheting for a little over a year now and have found some amazing pattern designers! Kristine from Ambassador Crochet is one of them. I have made one of her hats so far (I have more of her patterns but only made the one, not enough hours in the day to make everything I want lol) I shared the picture when she designed it and one of my friends wanted me to make one for her son. It turned out pretty good and I wouldn’t have been able to had it not been for Kristine’s great pattern!

Train hat made by me from Ambassador Crochet's pattern.

Side of the hat I made from Ambassador Crochet's pattern.

I shipped this hat to Canada and the customer LOVED it, her little boy wouldn’t take it off! This is one of her free patterns and she did an amazing job designing it as she does all her hats. I honestly didn’t think I’d be able to make it anywhere near as good as she did, but with amazing instructions I was able to come pretty close to hers. You can also buy some of her cute patterns on her site or Etsy. She has patterns for hats, scarves, photo props, blankets and others!

I decided to ask Kristine a couple of questions to learn more about her.

Little Bio About Yourself:
I am a wife to my hubby of 11+ years, and mom to 6 great kids ranging from 19 to 2
1/2 years old. (1 boy & 5 girls). I homeschool my youngest 5, who are all the girls. In
my spare time I love to crochet, and take photographs.

Who taught you to crochet?
My mother taught me to crochet when I was 5. I didn’t pick it up again until I was in
my 20’s and pregnant with my first daughter. At that time I purchased a “Teach
Yourself to Crochet” book, and I’ve been crocheting ever since.

What made you want to learn to crochet?
I wanted to make a baby blanket for my daughter, and other friends who were also
expecting.

What inspires you for your patterns?
I have 5 daughters. They are where the majority of my inspiration stems from. But I
also get ideas from others who don’t crochet, but know what they would like me to
make for them.

What’s your favorite yarn? Hook?
My favorite hook would probably be the I hook. – I like projects that work up quick 🙂
If I had to choose just one yarn, I would probably say… I Love This Yarn! by Hobby
Lobby.

What is your favorite thing to crochet?
Anything girly.

How did you come up with your shop name?
Actually, my husband came up with the name. Years ago I went by the name Creative
Crochet. When I started getting serious about internet/website sales I started doing
some searches. I was surprised at how many other “Creative Crochet’s” were out there.
I couldn’t come up with a good name. Hubby knows how much I love to pass on my
love of crochet, so that’s how it was named.

So far what is your favorite pattern you’ve designed?
My Preemie Basketweave Afghan was the first pattern I designed, so I have a soft spot
for that one. But I think each new pattern I design is my new favorite until I come up
with a new creation. HINT: My new favorite, which will be releasing in the next few
weeks, is called “Frog Pond.”

And because Kristine is super nice, she is giving away 3 of her patterns to one of my readers!

Shameless Plug: If you see one of her patterns you like and you don’t crochet or don’t want to learn, you can go through Mizz J’s Creative Mayhem and I can make it for you 🙂

The Giveaway: One reader will win 3 patterns of their choice from Ambassador Crochet!
