I’m a “Soccer” Mom And I Love It

No, none of my kids actually play soccer but it seems they are doing everything else! Fall means FOOTBALL!!! This is Jeffery’s first year playing football and he’s LOVING IT!!! He’s done t-ball in the past but I never seen a passion like he does for football. Before school started he had practice 3 days a week for 2 hours each, and now that school is in session he has 2 practices (sometimes one or both are scrimmages) each for 2+ hours and then his game on Saturday is 2 hours. He is constantly moving and that’s great for him.

Jaylin is still doing gymnastics, that’s every Friday for an hour and now I pick her up from school at the end of the day instead of her riding the bus so we make it there in time. She now goes across the high balance beam without holding her coach’s hand which is a HUGE deal! This Friday I’ll take my big camera and see if they’ll let me go in and take pictures of her doing it. We’re proud she’s making such great strides.

Jeffery is still in karate, he does that 2 times a week for a half hour each time. He’s still an orange belt and even though he’s doing great, I think he may be an orange belt through the next belt promotion. I’m not quite sure he’s ready to move up to purple, but I’ll talk to his instructor and see what he says. I do know after his last promotion he told us that Jeffery would have to get really serious about it and concentrate really hard…he’s trying but I see where he needs a lot of improvement.

Both the kids are in scouts. Jeffery’s boy scouts went through the Summer while Jaylin’s girl scouts stopped at the end of May. She’s excited for scouts to start back up and Jeffery has missed the last 2 scout meetings due to football practice (Scouts are only every other week) I love the things they get to learn in scouts and the friends they make.

Both kids are now in OT. It just recently started back up for Jeffery and Jaylin just started so we’ll see if it helps her. I sure hope so.

So, as a recap, here is our weekly schedule (be warned, you may get tired reading it haha)

Monday: Karate

Tuesday: Football Practice

Wednesday: Karate and Boy Scouts (every other week)

Thursday: OT and Football Practice RIGHT after (we’re usually late to practice)

Friday: Gymnastics

Saturday: Football Game

We stay busy! I’ve been going to bed pretty early lately because of it too. I do now get the day to myself with only having Justin at home, but once the big kids are home I don’t get to sit down until they are all in bed! I wouldn’t trade it for anything though, I’m loving watching them learn new things and make new friends.

Do your kids do any extra activities?
