Sweet & Simple Baby Crochet Book (review/giveaway)

I’ve been crocheting for over two years now, I remember everything about when I first started. I first worked with figuring out the different stitches, then worked up a few free patterns. I was then introduced to the beautiful designs by RAKJ Patterns! I have lost count of how many of her patterns I’ve bought. Imagine my delight when I got an email asking me to review Sweet & Simple Baby Crochet by Kristi Simpson (owner/designer of RAKJ Patterns).

When I received Sweet & Simple Baby Crochet Book I immediately flipped through to see all the different patterns, I recognized a couple immediately as patterns I had bought a long time ago and had made! I love how Kristi’s patterns are easy to read, and if you are new to reading patterns, she has a guide in the back of the book on how to read her patterns. If you don’t’ know what DC, slst, BPDC or any of the other foreign looking abbreviations means, she has them all in the back. She also included great directions on how to do some of the stitches…WITH PICTURES! I know when I was learning to crochet, seeing a picture helped SO MUCH!

The patterns themselves have so much detail, she included pictures as well to help with some of the more difficult areas. There are 35 patterns in the book and only a handful of them I have seen her release on RAKJ Patterns so most are NEW!!!!! She includes sizes for newborn to 12 months. I am currently working on the Ruffle Skirt and Leg Warmers for my best friend’s baby, it’s just so adorable and I can’t wait to finish it and get pictures of her in it! Oh how I wish I had a baby girl of my own to make one (or more lol) for!

The book itself is high quality, the pages are thick and glossy, I can tell it will stand up to just about anything. To get 35 patterns for $19.95 is an awesome deal, especially if you do the math as she sells individual patterns for $3.99. If you would like a preview of the book you can go HERE for pictures.
