Holiday Gift Guide: Pawparazzi (review/giveaway)

I love having a little girl, especially around Christmas. It’s so fun to find new stuff she’ll love to play with. Jaylin is such an animal lover, so Pawparazzi Pets made so much sense to me when I got the opportunity to review them!

What is a Pawparazzi Pet?

Pawparazzi Pets are the celebrities that we wish all celebrities could be. They have talent and class, they approach the world with open hearts, and they support causes that make their world better. And, they’re not just friends, they’re fashion accessories!”

We were sent Misty, a cute little grey kitten. Here is a little snipet from the Pawparazzi Pets site about Misty (each pet has their own “personality”:

As a reporter for the Cat News Network (CNN) I’m always stalking the next big story. You can usually find me sniffing around the news litter box trying to get the latest ‘scoop’. Some people think this business is all catnaps and kitten rescues, but I’ve exposed dangerous dog parks and clawed my way through some flea-infested parts of the world to uncover important stories. If there’s a breaking story, this fur is flying to be first on the scene!”

I think she is so cute! Each box has: Pet and Purse with Leash, Collar, Blanket, Celebrity Magazine, Matching Mini Note Pad, and a Pop-out Trading Card on the back of the box! Don’t think that’s all, you

can also buy accessories!!! We got a pet bed and a Flower Fairy outfit which included: Fairy Dress, Flower Headband, and Dragonfly Purse. There are all kinds of different accessories, different outfits, beds, and “destinations”. The whole Pawparazzi Pets idea is just so fun! I want one for myself, maybe I’ll get one so me and Jaylin can play

with our pets together, how fun right? Perfect Christmas gift for any little girls who love animals, they have both dogs and cats (They need a monkey! lol)

Holiday Gift Guide: Jeep Stroller (review/giveaway)

Most of you have probably read my Jeep Playyard review, I love that playpen! Now, when I got the opportunity to review the Jeep® Overland Limited Jogging Stroller. Recently you saw the posts we went on a mini vacation. Which we took the Jeep Play yard and the Jeep Jogging Stroller, they both got plenty of use!

We needed a single stroller, we have a tandem stroller for when the older 2 were younger…and now they both walk everywhere, I needed something to push Jaxon around in when I’m not wearing him. The Jeep Jogging Stroller has everything I need and MORE! We live back a dirt road, so the tires were a big deal and if it could handle rough terrain…it can, it’s awesome and Jaxon loves taking walks down the road. The tires are actually air filled, not some cheap plastic stuff. Funny story…after I had put the stroller together in the living room, I had to leave the room for a few minutes for whatever reason, I come back and Jaylin had this long plastic pipe looking

thing. I couldn’t figure out where it come from, I thought it had broken off the stroller, until I read into the manual that it come with it’s own air pump, it even has it’s own little “pocket” in the large basket under the stroller.

One thing about the Jeep Jogging Stroller that had Jeff interested, it has a MP3 hookup and speakers!! Really, plug up your MP3 player,
CD player or whatever, and you can listen to music as you walk/jog with baby! I haven’t tried this out because my MP3 player isn’t working…but I can’t wait to! Some of the other features are:

  • Includes 2 Cup Holders for Parents
  • Smart Handle® Adjusts to Multiple Heights
  • Convenient Free Stand™ Stands Upright When You Fold
  • Multi-Position Reclining Seat
  • Large Basket, Water Bottle Holder & 2 Cargo Pockets for Storage
  • Snack tray with Cup Holder
  • Speed & Distance Odometer
  • Adjustable 5 Point Harness, Safety Tether & Reflectors for Safety
Jaxon loves this stroller, and I do too. I know after the holidays I’m going to be wanting to walk/jog to lose a lot of that weight I know I will gain from all those big dinners with family…this i
s going to come in so handy! I love the color, the nice bright orange is awesome!

Holiday Gift Guide: Playskool (review/giveaway)

Playskool has always been a great company for making baby/toddler/kid toys. So it was no surprise I think the toys they sent me for review are awesome and make perfect gifts this holiday season!

The first thing I got from Playskool was a Kota & Pals Stompers (Triceratops). This has to be the cutest little dinosaur I’ve ever seen! He’s a bluish color (in the picture he looks green but he has a bluish tint), which I love, and his “skin” is velvety. When you push his back he comes to “life” and roars, stomps and moves. The sound he makes when his feet move is just precious! I like that it’s not scary, it’s enjoyable. The head moves up and down, his mouth opens and closes and he really walks! I’ve seen some dinosaurs in stores that look really scary and I’m sure would make my kids have nightmares! Something I just love about Kota & Pals Stompers is it COMES WITH BATTERIES! Seriously, I hate looking over every toy we buy and writing down how many and what size batteries we need to buy before Christmas morning! Another plus to that….the batteries are already in the toy…all you have to do on Christmas morning is watch your kid open the gift, then take it out of it’s box for them! If you don’t know why I’m so excited about batteries being in the toy…you must only have a baby, or this is your first year buying for kids this age…because the past 2 years it’s been “what size batteries does that need? Oh…ok…WAIT a minute Jeffery I have to put batteries in it before you can play with it. NO not yet, be patient Jaylin, I’m trying to get this unscrewed so I can put the batteries in it”

The other thing from Playskool I got to review was Wheel Pals. I got one for Jeffery and one for Jaylin. Being that Jaylin likes to do everything Jeffery does, she is into playing with cars…so the fact that they have girly cars was sweet to me! She got this cute little dragonfly Wheel Pals, I think its one of the cutest little things! Jeffery got the little turtle Wheel Pals. I like that they are soft, but not too soft…I’m not sure if that makes any sense. They are made of soft rubbery/plastic material. I could see letting Jaxon chew all over one. One thing I usually have a hard time finding for Christmas is stocking stuffers, well Wheel Pals are the perfect size to put in a stocking! I love it! They have a ton of different characters for Wheel Pals, from these adorable designs for girls (gotta love the cute little bugs!) to animals, and regular cars. All of them for only $3.99 each!

Holiday Gift Guide: Nerf (review/giveaway)

Buying for boys isn’t too hard, especially with a compay like Nerf around! Jeffery and Jaylin were sent a Nerf NFL Vortex Mega Howler and a Nerf NFL Pocket Vortex to try out. Both are big hits with both of the kids…but it seems Jeffery has favored the Vortex Mega Howler and Jaylin the Pocket Vortex.

Yes, I’m breeding football players here! Even my daughter is into the whole football craze! I think the reason Jeffery likes the Vortex Mega Howler is because he has learned to throw it correctly (thanks to me and Pawpaw teaching him) and hard enough to make it “howl” which to me it sounds like a whistle and thats exactly what he calls it too. Its cool to see him get excited when he hears the whistle because he threw it hard enough to make it do it, and the boy has an arm on him, he’s going to be a heck of a quarterback when he plays football!

Oh, and something that is completley cute…Jaylin and her Pocket Vortex! It’s small so it fits in her little hands perfect (the Colts one to the left is her’s)….although she likes to hold it by the “tail” (I don’t know what else to call it lol) and throw it up in the air…she has fun, that’s all that matters! She’s only 3, I don’t expect her to learn to hold the football the right way.
I’ve played with both kids, with both of the footballs, and they are both awesome! I don’t play football too much, but I was able to throw both of these all the way across the yard. I think any kid who gets one of these footballs for Christmas is going to be a happy kid! Don’t think they are just for boys either, Jaylin likes to play too (just like I did when I was little)!

Holiday Gift Guide: Lamaze (review/giveaway)

Babies can be the hardest to buy gifts for! Every year my kids were babies, I had a hard time figuring out what to buy them that will last awhile, I didn’t want to waste my money on something they wouldn’t like…well guess what…I have that same problem this year too! Jaxon is only going to be 6 almost 7 months old. Of course the point of me having a Holiday Gift Guide is to tell everyone who reads my blog of some great gift ideas, and boy do I have one for babies! So do you want to know what it is? Of course if you’re reading this you do, and by the title you can tell who makes the toy, I’m sure if you cheated and scrolled down a bit you saw the picture lol. I’m such a dork. It’s the Lamaze Space Symphony Motion Gym! One was sent to Jaxon from Learning Curve which is where you can buy one for yourself or a gift for someone else.

Lamaze Space Symphony Motion Gym is a playgym unlike any other that I’ve seen! The overhead bars actually move! There are 2 settings, one has slower lullaby music and the other has a fast tempo music which Jeff says reminds him of Mario Brothers music (it DOES!) I lay Jaxon under it and he loves to watch the toys move…he can now grab them and he loves to try to get them in his mouth…he’s just not strong enough to pull them all the way down yet. If you look closely at the picture from the site, you can see a little space monkey, isn’t he the cutest thing? I could seriously talk up the Lamaze Space Symphony Motion Gym all day and night because it’s the coolest little playgym, but I only have so much space to type here on my blog…so here are some bullets of what I like about it:

  • The bottom has some areas where it’s crinkly…it makes a crinkle noise when he moves on it.
  • The toys are low enough that his short little arms (or feet!) can reach them and he can play with them
  • The rocket is a rattle!
  • It has a mirror (not pictured in the one with him because Jeffery and Jaylin took it lol) so baby can look at himself!
  • Jaxon is 5months old and he fits just perfectly in it…and I know he can use it for a couple more months!
  • Assembly is a piece of cake!
  • Rolls up easily to take anywhere!
  • Brightly colored to keep baby’s attention.

Jaxon loves this! I think he gives it 10 toes up, and 10 fingers…lol. He can lay there for the longest time, right now he’s laying there knocked out like a light! Yea, he played himself to sleep! I think the Space Symphony Motion Gym would make the perfect gift for someone expecting a baby or for that little baby who is hard to buy for!

Holiday Gift Guide Day 3: Kolcraft (review/giveaway)

I know you are probably looking at that adorable picture of Jaxon sleeping in this walker and thinking “it must not be that fun if he fell asleep in it” well, you are thinking wrong. Jaxon has so much fun in his Kolcraft Tiny Steps® 2-in-1 Activity Walker it wore him out and he fell asleep playing!

The Tiny Steps® 2-in-1 Activity Walker is adorable, of course my favorite thing is the monkeys! You move the monkeys side to side and it makes the monkey sound! What you can’t see in the picture is little lights facing Jaxon and a frog that when you push makes a frog sound. The ball in the middle plays music when it is spun, so Jaxon loves that…Jeffery and Jaylin love to make the walker make sounds to make Jaxon smile since his little arms aren’t quite long enough to reach all the toys. Once Jaxon gets big enough, he can grab the dolphin and bird to chew on them, I know he wants to know, because he’s teething.
This past weekend when we went away, I folded up the Tiny Steps® 2-in-1 Activity Walker and took it with us…yes, folded it up! It was simple, and it folded flat! Easy to travel with, I loved it!
The Tiny Steps® 2-in-1 Activity Walker also has 2 stages, of course the 1st stage is the walker, for 6months to walking (I know Jaxon isn’t quite 6months old, but that is the recommended age, Jaxon’s feet don’t even touch the ground yet, but he likes to sit in it) the 2nd stage is a walk behind walker for 9months & up. You defiantly get your money’s worth with this!
Makes a great gift for those hard to buy for babies! Don’t forget to check out my other Holiday Gift Guide reviews and giveaways!

Gift Guide Day 2: Boba Carrier & Sleepy Wrap Bear (review/discount code)

Most of you have probably seen my review of Sleepy Wrap, you know, the carrier I’m in love with! Seriously, I keep it in my van for when we go out and about it’s easy for me to carry Jaxon. The Sleepy Wrap is for babies (0-1), so what am I going to do when Jaxon turns a year old? I’m going to use the Boba Carrier (made by the creators of Sleepy Wrap!)!
Now I know Jaxon isn’t old enough for a Boba Carrier (1-4 years) but Jaylin is, so to review it, I tried to try it out with her, unfortunately since I never “wore” her when she was a baby, she didn’t want anything to do with it. I think it kind of scared her when I tried to put her on my back, it takes a bit of maneuvering to shift her weight from my hip, to my back….I had issues. Of course I’m not exactly very coordinated anyways. It could be because she’s 35-40lbs and the maximum weight is 45lbs…so she’s borderline to me for it…she’s a big girl. Of course with the Sleepy Wrap I had a few issues at first but now I’m a pro at it! Some of the nice features of the Boba Carrier are:
  • Made with 100% organic cotton
  • front and back carry
  • high density waist and shoulder strap foam
  • safety buckle to prevent unintended release
  • one size fits most adults (this is true, I consider myself pretty big, and it fit!)

The one thing I don’t think I’ve seen as a feature on any baby/child carrier is the foot straps.

  • enables a healthy sitting position for your child
  • provide proper leg support in the flexed abducted position
  • naturally tilt the pelvis, fills out hip sockets, aligns spine
  • the more leg support the less pressure absorbed by the spine
  • takes the pressure off of the hamstrings
  • reduces the leg dangle
  • gives feet a place to rest
  • ensures complete blood flow throughout legs
  • no pinching of the major nerve behind the thigh

In addition to sending me a Boba Carrier to review, Sleepy Wrap also sent me a Sleepy Bear Organic for Jaylin. Of course, Jaylin took the baby bear out of the wrap, and carried that one with her, then put the big bear in the swing with Jaxon!

“the very first stuffed toy to help promote babywearing! Made from the softest
organic cotton, the new eco-friendly toy is perfect for your child’s first
friend (intended for children ages 3 and up). No buttons, snaps or removable
parts are used on the Sleepy Bear – only soft stitching and materials are used
to make this the perfect bear for your child!”

I think it’s cute, it’s a bear with a wrap like the one I carry Jaxon in. The Sleepy Bear Organic is only available in retail stores, you can go HERE to find one near you.

Sleepy Wrap wants to give my readers a 10% discount. When checking out use the code “monkey” to get 10% off any product on Sleepy Wrap’s site, that includes Sleepy Wrap or Boba Carrier (sorry, code isn’t valid for Sleepy Bear, that must be purchased at an authorized retailer)! Either one would make an excellent gift for an expectant mother you may need a gift for! I know I love my Sleepy Wrap, and I can tell Jaxon will love the Boba Carrier when he’s old enough!

Want more great gift ideas? Head over to Barefoot Mommies Gift Guide! Get extra entries for entering my Gift Guide Giveaways, and get Extra Entries on my Gift Guide giveaways if you enter one of their Gift Guide giveaways!
